True Storys
When we moved back to Perth, after a few years in the North West, we were looking for a church not only for ourselves but also for our kids, aged 13,11 and 7. We knew straight after our first visit that we had found the right place. The kids have a great time with friends on Thursdays and Friday night “youth”, where they hang out in a safe environment with people we know, having fun and being encouraged. They love Friday nights! What kid doesn’t like jelly wrestling, timezone, adventure world, Xbox or playing pool? From their point of view it is totally fun all the time, they have no idea the good stuff they’re getting (well actually they do). For us we enjoy most of all the friendship, which is sincere. We feel like we are home. Part of that feeling comes from the diversity of cultures at the church, which makes for plenty of humour, but also adds life and interest to what goes on. The church also has an enormous range of activities that impacts our local community and overseas. The vision of a church without walls resonates with us because we can’t stand all talk and no action. Being able to be involved, even in a small way, means we are actually helping to make a big difference in a pretty yucky world. Because we hadn’t been Christians for too long before returning to Perth, we needed plenty of opportunity to learn some basic truths. We found that we were able to connect with some terrific mentors who are really down to earth. That is they have lived life and aren’t afraid to share their experiences publicly, no matter how grotty. Oh and did we mention that this church likes to eat, often! See ya, Jamie, Wendy, William, Alex & Victoria

I was a girl who lived life in the fast lane, eager to experiment with anything and everything, totally driven by adventure and pleasure. But God drew me to himself by His amazing saving power. When I first came to the church, my first impression was that it was like a sober nightclub. People having fun - in church?! It was the atmosphere that caught my attention. I tried to carried on life but found myself wanting to go back. I realised that I had to make a decision: I could choose the world’s destiny or Gods destiny for me - two totally different paths. I could let the world entice me deeper into its pleasures, if I did this I would have been as good as dead. I had to “run for my life”, away from the world and hope that I would find life. I found God, life and my real self. Hey, don't let the world determine who you are, let God show you. God was and is the one who caught my attention and he wants your attention. Deep down in that empty spot that we all have without God, we know He is calling us. You are looking for God, but don't know it yet. Choose God and find life.
